Monday, October 28, 2019 DAY 1

There will be a Junior Boys Hockey Tryout this afternoon from 3:00 – 4:20. Please let Mr. McGregor know if you are unable to attend.

The next Varsity Boys Hockey Tryout is Tuesday, October 29 from 3:00 – 3:50. 

The second Junior Boys Hockey Tryout is on Wednesday, October 30 from 3:00 – 3:50.

Community service hours are available on Sunday, November 3.  Zero Waste Renfrew will be picking up pumpkins and straw bales and giving them a second life in their compost.  Any students interested in participating should contact 204-599-8588 and ask for Tori. A Reminder for all Students – please ensure that you are completing and submitting all major assessments to your teachers by their arranged deadlines.  If you are having difficulty meeting these deadlines, please take advantage of the opportunities in the Study Hall, advocate for yourself with your teaches and develop a strategy, or come to 113 and ask Mr O’Connor to speak with your teachers for you.  Report card season is fast approaching, so having all major assessments turned in will allow your teachers to accurately evaluate your midterm progress.

Coffee House auditions are being held this week on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Blues Room. Please arrive in advance of your audition and BE PREPARED. If you are not there, we will move on to the next person on the list. If you haven’t yet signed up, you can do so on the Student Lounge windows. Also, for anyone interested in volunteering to help with Coffee House on November 21, the sign up sheets are available on the Student Lounge windows as well.

The senior girls basketball team will practice early tonight to prepare for their last regular season game at home tomorrow against MVDHS. All are invited to come out and cheer on the girls!

Friday October 25th, 2019 Day 2

St. Joe’s volleyball was victorious again in both junior and senior boys volleyball against cross town rivals RCI as both teams enjoyed 3 game sweeps of their counterparts. Congratulations to both teams as they remain undefeated and prepare for next week’s Halloween showdown in Barry’s Bay against Madawaska High School.


Wednesday October 23, 2019 DAY 2

Games Club:  We need to get the next move done.  Submit these to Mr. Retty by lunch hour.  

Senior GIrls Basketball – Please meet in Miss. Afelskie’s portable at the start of lunch today. 

Varsity Girls Hockey – The first try out is tonight after school at 3.  If you are unable to make it, please see one of the coaches.  

There will be a high school cross country meeting in rm 113 immediately following announcements.


Could all period 1 teachers please send all their collected money down to the office.  It’s not too late, make your donations and then send it down!

There is a modified schedule for today.  Teachers, please write this on the board.

Period 1 : 8:15-9:05

Period 2 : 9:10-10:00

Period 3 : 10:05-10:55

LUNCH: 10:55-11:45

Period 4: 11:45-1:05

Then students will be called to the field for a brief pep rally and watch the grade 8 flag football team play the teachers.

Quail Creek Seniors Residence has a student employment position available in their Food Services Dept.  Please see Mrs. Matcheskie in the office for details. 

Last night the junior girls hosted Bishop Smith and after a slow first half start, they refocused and came out with a 42-15 win.  Leading the way on the offensive end was Gabby Cayen with 16 points. Great work girls. Early practice tonight.
